DEATH OF OSAMA BIN LADEN IS NOT THE END OF TERRORISM

In this paper we are going to discuss on the matter concern the death of Osama Bin Laden, relation of his death to International
relations, impact of his death to US foreign policy, relation between
US and Pakistan and the future perspective of Al-Qaeda group and
terrorism.

Before moving to the topic we have to be familiar with the following conepts:

International relation, this refers to transborder transaction of all
kind between state and non state actors which focus on economic, social political and
cultural aspects.

Terrorism, although there is no universal agreed definition,
terrorism can refer to only those violent act which are intended to
create fear (terror) and are perpetrated for a religious political or
ideological goal.

AL-Qaeda, this is an international terrorist network which was
led by Osama bin Laden, Al-Qaeda was established around 1988, it helped finance recruit,
transport and train thousand of fighters from different countries with
the aim of assassinating, bombing, hijacking, kidnapping, suicide and attack those who go against islamic world.

Osama bin Laden was the most wanted fugitive on the US list and
he had been killed in a US operation in Pakistan city of Abbott bad,
on May, 1, 2011 as this was the US effort to combat terrorism after
terrorist attack of 9/11/2001.

This comes just few days after NATO
missile air strike killed the youngest son and grand children of
Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi.

The breaking news of Bin Ladens death which was announced by US
president Barack Obama for the Americans and other parts of the world
whose also suffered from 9/11 terror attack in 2001, was not just
important psychologically and emotionally but also marked new political era in relation to terrorism.

However Osama is dead, his death left many questions whether
his death will make a difference to the threat of terrorism to US national security and international stability.

The truth is that the death of Osama Bin Laden does not
automatically make the US and world at large secure, because the leader might be dead but Al-Qaeda not.

As the death of Bin-Laden was not a complete mistake to US, president Obama provided some announcement which has important
message:

Firstly, he highlighted the success of joint forces between the
US and Pakistan military to work together. Obama even mentioned that
is also an important achievement for Pakistan and all states in the
world.
Secondly, president Obama emphasized that, the US has no intention to wage a war against the Muslim world but fighting Al-Qaeda because Bin Laden is
not the leader of Muslim, but a mass murderer. Those messages
highlight a basis of continuously cooperation between the US and
Muslim majority states.

Although US declared that does not wage a war against Islamic
world, the death of Osama has put the US national security and foreign
policy at risk particularly in three major areas that is terrorism, US
relation with India and Pakistan and the most crutial aspects of the
home land since at any time terrorists would revenge for the death of
their leader.

As Osama was found in the territory of Pakistan this arose
many questions whether Pakistan host terrorists as it was argued by
India, this has lead to the very difficult relationships that is under a lot of stress between US and Pakistan ". "Lee Hamilton, vice chairman
of September 11 commission" argued that, US can not disengage from
Pakistan because they are important for US in Afghanistan, and also Pakistan is the worlds fifth largest nuclear power. President Obama and secretary of state
Hillary Clinton vowed that coperation would be important in the days ahead because the battle
to stop Al–Qaeda and its syndicate of terror will not end with the
death of bin Laden.

Due to the death of bin Laden, there are different views on the future of Al-Qaeda and terrorism, where some view that the death of bin
Laden has marked the end of Al-Qaeda and terrorism as well as those
view the death of bin Laden as a turning point toward the new era of war against
terrorism since terrorist also plan to revenge for demise of their leader.

Recommendation; the death Osama bin Laden has both psychological,
emotional and political important in relation to the world peace,
security and stability, but US and world at large should have not only
celebrate, instead it is the time to plan different strategies in which
countries should take for the future war against Al-Qaeda and
terrorism as whole.
